The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014 is just round the corner and smartphone and tablet manufacturers have already started announcing devices which the companies will showcase at the event and the one of the first company to announce the devices is Acer which has just announced the Acer Iconia A1-830 tablet which arrives with a 7.9 inch display and is powered by an Intel Atom processor.


The Acer Iconia A1-830 has a decent 7.9 inch LED-backlit IPS display which has a 178 degree viewing angle and an aspect ratio of 4:3. The resolution of the tablet is 1024 x 768 pixels. The tablet is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor which comes with Hyper-Threading technology coupled with 1 GB RAM while the internal memory is pegged at 16 GB. This will further be expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card. There is no detail on which version of Android OS the tablet runs on but as per the latest trend, we expect it to be Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.

The Acer Iconia A1-830 packs in a 5 megapixel camera which is capable of recording videos at 1080p while there is a 2 megapixel camera on the front which can be used to have video chats and is also capable of recording videos at 720p. The Acer Iconia A1-830 has an aluminium metal back cover and it weighs about 380 grams. Connectivity wise, the Acer Iconia A1-830 has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB and 3.5mm audio jack. There is no information on the battery but Acer promises up to 7.5 hours of battery life on the tablet.

The Acer Iconia A1-830 will be available by the end of February and has been priced starting at 169 Euros. The company has also announced that it will sell Crunch Keyboard and Crunch Cover for the tablet. Acer has also launched the Acer Liquid Z5 smartphone and you read more about that here.
