Acer has lately been a lot active on the Windows platform and the company is trying its best to launch a product in each consumer product category available out there. And in one such attempt, Acer has announced the launch of a successor to the Acer Iconia W3 tablet which was launched in June. The new tablet is called the Acer Iconia W4 which was announced back in October and is now available in India for a decent price tag.


Going by the specifications, the Acer Iconia W4 packs in an 8 inch IPS display with screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels while bring powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Bay Trail T Processor which comes with integrated Intel HD Graphics for all the graphic processing. There is 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM on board and the internal storage is pegfed at 32 GB and 64 GB which is further expandable up to 32 gB with microSD card slot. The Acer Iconia W4 runs on the latest Windows 8.1 OS which is great and feature rich compared to Windows 8.

There is a 5 megapixel autofocus rear camera which is capable of recording videos at 1080p while a front facing 2 megapixel camera for video chats has been made available for users. Connectivity wise, the Acer Iconia W4 has Wi-Fi, micro HDMI, micro USB and Bluetooth 4.0 apart from a 3.5mm audio jack. The tablet comes preloaded with Microsoft Office Homa and Student 2013 which will give users access to the MS Office software. The Acer Iconia W4 is powered by a 18.6 Wh 4960 mAh battery which will make sure it is up and running for the users.

Acer has also announced that the company will sell optional accessories which include the Acer Crunch Keyboard with Bluetooth connectivity which recharges via micro USB and the Acer Crunch Cover, a protective cover made of microfiber. The Acer Iconia W4 has been priced at Rs.24,999 for the 32 GB version while the 64 GB version will be available for Rs.26,999.
