It is that time of the year when Cupertino based Apple Inc. goes on to announce its new fagship phone and today, the company has finally made 2 phones, the Apple iPhone 6 and the Apple iPhone 6 Plus official. The leaks from the past few months were all true and the iPhone 6, does look like what we have seen in the past few months. The fruit company has finally decided to move over the 4-inch barrier and announced the iPhone 6 with a large 4.7 inch display which has brought a great relief to Apple users and prospective buyers who have been craving for a large screen iPhone.


As mentioned above, the Apple iPhone 6 comes with a 4.7 inch display which has a resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels. The phone, is powered by a new Apple A8 chipset which is based on 20nm processor and is about 50 times faster than the original iPhone which is coupled with 1 GB of RAM. It also comes with the M8 motion co-processor and a Barometer for all the fitness apps to make use of it. This time, Apple has dropped the 32 GB internal storage variant and the Apple iPhone 6 will be available in 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB options.

The phone comes with an 8 megapixel iSight camera with a new sensor, f/2.2 aperture, true-tone flash. It comes with Digital Image Stabilization (OIS) that is absent in the iPhone 6. It can capture panoramas up to 43-megapixels and it can capture 1080p videos at 30 or 60fps, Slo-Mo videos at 120 fps or 240fps. For videos it has cinematic video stabilization. There is also a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera which has been improved and will now take better selfies for users. The phone will run on iOS 8, which will roll out for older devices on September 17th.

As you can see in the image above, the Apple iPhone 6 comes with a familiar front but a revamped back. The phone comes with a full metal finish panel which has stripes running from top and bottom which are for antennas. The buttons are now a part of the body and the power button has been relocated to the right of the phone. The Aple iPhone 6 comes with VoLTE options and it now supports over 20 LTE bands with improved Wi-Fi connectivity. NFC connectivity finally arrives on the phone as users will also be able to make payments using Apple Pay.

Battery backup on the new phone is pegged at 14 hours of 3G talk time and up to 250 hours of standby time which sounds great but we will have to wait and see how it performs in real life situations. Going by the pricing, Apple has priced the 16GB version at $199, while the 64GB variant and the 128GB model are priced at $299 and $399 respectively on a 2 year contract. The Apple iPhone 6 will go on sale on September 19th in the US with a launch date for India scheduled for October.
