We have been on a back foot for quite some time regarding our coverage of the news from the world of technology but with a fresh new year, we are back with a bang. And to start with, the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2015 has just kicked off and technology companies have started to showcase their products for consumers. To start with, Asus has today announced the launch of the sucessor to its super successful Zenfone 5 with the Zenfone 2 which comes with a new 64 bit processor and whooping 4 GB of RAM. The Asus ZenFone 2 comes with a sweet 5.5 inch Full HD display with the screen-to-body ratio at 72% and Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the top of it.


The phone is powered by 64-bit Intel Atom Z3560/Z3580 Quad Core Processor clocking atat 1.8 GHz/2.3GHz and is coupled with 4 GB of RAM, making it the first smartphone in the world to launch with 4 GB of RAM. The Asus ZenFone 2 features a 13 megapixel, f/2.0-aperture, 5-element auto-focus lens with dual-color Real Tone flash. It comes with PixelMaster which will allow users to take low light photos which, as per the company will be about 400 times brighter than what the previous generation of smartphones took. Joining the brigade, the phone will also come with a front facing 5 megapixel shooter. The phone runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with the company’s very own ZenUI on the top it and offering a super smooth user experience with almost zero lag.

All of this is powered by a powerful 3000 mAh battery and Asus claims that the phone reaches 60% of charge in just 39 minutes. The Asus ZenFone 2 will be available in Glacier Gray, Glamor Red, Osmium Black, Sheer Gold and Ceramic White color options with the price tag set at $199.
