It has just over a little over a month when the Canadian giant BlackBerry launched the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone with a full QWERTY physical keyboard targeting the power users as the smartphone is placed in the high-end pricing segment but the company has not forgotten the mid-range buyers and has, for them, today announced the launch of the BlackBerry Q5 Smartphone which has been priced at Rs.24,990 is being targeted at the younger generation of the country. The BlackBerry Q5 goes on to arrive with a 3.1 inch IPS LCD display which has a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels which gives the users a stunning pixel density of about 328 PPI.

The smartphone is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor which is complimented with 2 GB of RAM which makes the usability fluid. The BlackBerry Q5 packs 8 GB of internal storage which can be expanded using a microSD card. The BlackBerry Q5 runs on the BlackBerry 10.1 OS out-of-the-box and carries a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED Flash on the back while for video calls and BBM Video chats, a 2 megapixel shooter which is capable of capturing the videos at 720p has been made available.

While the BlackBerry Q5 lacks FM Radio connectivity it is capable of providing users with GPRS/EDGE, HSPA+, 4G LTE (select markets), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC amongst other connectivity options. The BlackBerry Q5 will be available in White, Black and Red color options and will hit the stores starting July 20th for Rs.24,990. But if you are one of those who wish to own the device, but are facing some budget-crunch, then BlackBerry has introduced 0% 12 month EMI options for you.

It will really be interesting to see as to how do the consumer react to the pricing of the BlackBerry Q5 and will they really be interested in a 25k smartphone from BlackBerry? Time will tell.
