Gionee, which is the latest entrant in the Indian mobile market has today announced the launch of its new flagship, the Gionee Elife E7 at a launch event in Shanghai, China. The Gionee ELife E6 arrives with some upgraded specifications over its predecessor, the Elife E6. The Gionee Elife E7 packs in a 5.5 inch full HD IPS touch screen with OGS and has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on it. The smartphone is powered by a powerful 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor for the 3G variant while the 4G LTE variant will be powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon MSM8974AC processor.


The device will also have two variants going by the RAM it carries, 2 GB RAM for 16 GB internal memory variant, while the 32 GB variant will have 3 GB of RAM. The Gionee Elife E7 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS with Amigo 2.0 UI on the top of it.

Gionee has also upgraded the camera with the smartphone arriving with a 16 megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash, 1/2.3″ 1.34 µm sensor, Sapphire lens and 1080p video recording capability. The front camera on the Gionee Elife E7 is of 8 megapixel resolution. Yes, 8 megapixel! The smartphone weighs just 150 grams and going by the connectivity options, the Gionee Elife E7 has 2G, 3G, 4G LTE (region dependant), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, USB OTG, 3.5mm audio jack, 2 microphones for noise cancellation and GPS.

The smartphone is powered by a 2500 mAh battery and will be available in Meteor Black, Ceramic White, Blue, Green, Orange and Red colours. The device is priced at 2,699 Chinese Yuan or about Rs.27600 for the 16GB model while the 32GB variant is priced at 3,199 Chinese Yuan or Rs.32700 in China. The global launch of the Gionee Elife E7 is slated for early 2014.  The device seems to be impressive and will surely give other manufacturers a run for their money.
