After launching its flagship HTC One and the HTC Desire 600 smartphones, HTC is now focussing its aim at a budget Smartphone range and it was just yesterday that we saw a HTC Desire 200 smartphone getting leaked in a hardware review video and today the Taiwanese company has officially announced the launch of the smartphone which doesn’t blow us by the specifications it comes baked with but for the price, this is the best HTC could have given.

According to official product page of the HTC Desire 200, the specifications of the smartphone match the ones that leaked and which includes a 3.5 inch display which has a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels. The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor which clocks at 1 GHz and is coupled with 512 MB of RAM which is just decent enough to run the unspecified version of the Android OS and Sense UI.

The internal memory is pegged at 4 GB which will further be expandable to up to 32 GB using a microSD card. The HTC Desire 200 comes with a 5 megapixel fixed focus camera with f/2.8 and 34mm lens and supports video recording of VGA resolution and there is no front facing camera on the 200. A 1230 mAh battery which is user-removable will provide all the juice to run the device and it said to provide users with 7 hours and 30 minutes of 3G talk time and 812 hours of stand-by. Coming to the connectivity part, the HTC Desire 200 will arrive with 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack.

And not to forget the Beats Audio branding that has been included on the budget smartphone and which will make the music listening experience a great one for the Desire 200 owners. But there is no information available on the probable price tag and the time frame when the device will be available in the market but it should not be too long until we hear an announcement for it.
