In the past few months, we have heard about one HTC ‘Zara’ which was said to be a mid-range smartphone and an upgrade to the HTC Desire 500 and now, the device has been officially been announced as the HTC Desire 601 alongside an entry level smartphone called the HTC Desire 300. The HTC Desire 601 arrive with a 4.5 inch IPS display which has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels (qHD). The HTC Desire 601 is powered by a decent Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocking at 1.4 GHz coupled with Adreno 305 GPU.


The smartphone carried a 5 megapixel camera on the back with LED flash with LED Flash and the HTC Zoe enhancement which includes variou features like Sequence Shot, Always Smile and Object Removal, Gallery with Video Highlights and HTC Share. There is also a VGA front facing camera which can be used for making video calls. Internal memory is pegged at 8 GB with a microSD card slot for expandion. The 4G-capable HTC Desire 601 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS with HTC Sense UI and other enhancements like HTC BlinkFeed and HTC BoomSound with front facing dual sterio speakers like on the HTC Desire 600 and the HTC One. The device is powered by a 2100 mAh battery to keep it running through the day.


Along with the HTC Desire 601, the Taiwanese giant has also made official the HTC Desire 300 smartphone which is an entry level device going by the specifications it packs in. The device has a 4.3 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor with 512 MB of RAM. The internal memory of the HTC Desire 300 is pegged at 4 GB which will be expandable to 64 GB via microSD card. The device is powered on unknown version of Android Jelly Bean OS with Sense UI. The camera on the back of HTC Desire 300 is of 5 megapixel resolution and lacks a flash while a front facing VGA camera will be available for users. The HTC Desire 300 is 3G capable with the other usual connectivity options and is powered by a 1650 mAh battery.

The HTC Desire 601 will be available in White, Red and Black colour options from October in selected markets of Europe, Middle East and Africa while the HTC Desire 300 will be made available in selected markets from October too. No details on the pricing of the devices were shared and details will be made available close to the availability.
