The race to launch a selfie-centric camera smartphone had just begun with companies launching devices with 5 megapixel camera on the front and here comes Taiwanese giant HTC to turn the game around and launch the HTC Desire EYE. The HTC Desire EYE comes with a whooping 13 megapixel camera on the front with a dual-LED Flash. Yeah! You read that right. The device comes with a f2.0 aperture front facing 13 megapixel camera to allow its users to click some classic selfies.


Other than that, the HTC Desire EYE packs in a 5.2 inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass Protection while it is powered by a powerful 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor which is coupled with 2 GB of RAM. The phone comes with 16 GB of internal storage which will further be expandable up to 128 GB using a microSD card. The HTC Desire EYE runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS out of the box with HTC Sense 6.0 UI on the top of it.

The HTC Desire EYE comes with the HTC EYE Experience which includes loads of features like Photo Booth, Crop Me In, Split Capture, Face Fusion, Live Makeup, Auto Selfie, Face Tracking, Screen Share and something called Voice Selfie. The phone has Dual front facing stereo speakers with amplifiers which are built-in and the quality of the sound will be taken care by HTC BoomSound. There is a 13 megapixel rear facing camera with dual-LED Flash with 13MP rear camera with dual LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture lens.

HTC went a step ahead and made the HTC Desire EYE water proof with Ingress IPX7 rating. Connectivity wise, the phone carries 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack. All of this will be powered by a 2400 mAh battery and the deivce will be available in Submarine Blue and Matt White colour options starting this October.
