HTC One X is the hottest Android mobile phone of this season. It is a flagship mobile from HTC and it packs cutting edge hardware and software.  HTC One X is powered by quad-core Tegra 3 processor made by Nividia. However, the AT&T version of HTC One X has different processor, it has dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Krait processor running at 1.5 Ghz speed. So if you are living in USA, then you will get the dual-core powered HTC One X instead of the Quad-core varient. The reason behind this processor change is that Navidia Tegra 3 doesn’t support 4G LTE. You may think that the dual-core HTC One X for AT&T is less powerful compared to the quad-core variant but in reality Snapdragon S4 is very capable processor, it offers great performance and in some cases dual-core HTC One X beats the quad-core Tegra 3. The Snapdragon S4 processor is more power efficient than Nvidia Tegra 3, so you will get a little bit more battery life from AT&T variant. There is another difference between global and AT&T HTC One X is that global version has 32GB internal memory whereas AT&T HTC One X has only 16GB internal memory. Before the moving to the next section of HTC one X AT&T review, check out the specification of the mobile.

Hardware and Design:

HTC One X is one of the most beautiful mobile I’ve seen. It looks better than Samsung Galaxy SIII. The unibody design gives the mobile a premium look and it has great build quality. Front side of the mobile dominated by large 4.7” HD display protected by Gorilla glass. There are three capacitive keys below the display. On the back side it has an 8MP Autofocus camera with LED flash. The micro USB port is located on the left side, which works as the charging port. On the right side it has the volume rocker key and at the top micro SIM tray and 3.5 mm headphone jack is located. HTC One X uses Micro SIM card so normal SIM card will not work in this mobile. In spite of having 4.7″ display, the mobile is very easy to hold and use. Due to the unibody design you cannot remove the battery and it doesn’t have any Micro SD card slot.

Display:

HTC One X has an amazing display with HD 720P resolution. It uses 4.7” Super IPL LCD2 screen with 1280×720 pixels resolution. Due to this high pixel density (312ppi) it is impossible to notice any pixel on the screen. It produces great color and has great viewing angles too. It is one of the best LCD screens on the market. The screen can show good black level though it’s not as black as AMOLED displays.

User Interface and Software:

HTC One X comes with Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system with latest HTC sense skin . The device which we are testing, is running Android 4.0.3. However official Android 4.0.4 is now available for both AT&T and Nvidia Tegra 3 powered global version of HTC One X. HTC is also working on a Jelly Bean update for HTC One X and One S. HTC Sense UI looks cool and offers plenty of customization options as well. HTC Sense looks better than Samsung’s Touch Wiz UX used in Galaxy SIII.

Lock screen:

Lock screen of  HTC One X can be customized in many ways. The mobile comes with 8 different types of lock screens.Lock screen can show live weather and stocks update, photo album, friend stream etc. HTC One X lock screen selection

Gallery:

HTC One X has a gallery which is very similar to the stock Android gallery. Here you can see all the photos and videos stored in the device. HTC One X Gallery Video Player:

Video player can play almost all videos up to Full HD resolution without any problem. HTC One X can be used as a portable video player. Videos looked great on the big vibrant screen, you can easily watch movies on the mobile. Unfortunately, HTC One X AT&T has only 16GB internal memory and it cannot be extended as it doesn’t have any Micro SD card slot. You have to rely on cloud based storage like Dropbox, Google Drive, etc to store files. Tegra 3 powered global HTC One X has healthy 32GB internal memory so it will not be a problem to store some high definition videos and music on it.

Music Player:

HTC One X AT&T  has a very feature-rich music player with Beats Audio enhancement. The music player can play locally stored songs or you can enjoy music from SoundHound, MOG Music or TuneIn Radio. Locally stored music are categorized as Albums, Artists, Songs, Playlists, Genre. Sound quality is good using the bundled headphones. You can play with Beats Audio settings to make it even better.

Camera:

HTC One X has a very capable 8MP autofocus camera with LED flash. Photos looked good with plenty of details and less noise. However I noticed that photos always have a reddish tint in them. I think this is a software issue and it will be fixed in the next software update. The camera interface is very simple, you can choose different shooting modes like Auto, HDR, Panoroma, Portrait, Landscape, etc. White balance, ISO settings can be tweaked to get the best shots. You can turn on Face detection, Auto Smile Capture, Geo-Tagging etc.
