Intex is not leaving anytime to jump onto the Octa-core processor bandwagon and had back in November unveiled its plan to launch a smartphone powered on an Octa-Core processor and now, the Intex Aqua Octa with a large 6 inch display and the said Octa-Core processor has now officially been launched by the company in the Indian subcontinent.

The Intex Aqua Octa carries a 6 inch IPS display which is based on the One-Glass-Solution (OGS) and has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while it is powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek processor with Mali 450 GPU and is coupled with 2 GB of RAM. The internal memory is pegged at 16 GB which we doubt will be expandable. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. The Intex Aqua Octa has a 13 megapixel auto focus camera with LED Flash on the back while there is a 5 megapixel front facing camera for users to make video calls.

Interestingly, the Intex Aqua Octa also has dual Yamaha 1420 speakers with an output of 1.2W. Connectivity wise, the Intex Aqua Octa has 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and 3.5mm audio jack while the smartphone is Dual SIM capable with 3G + 2G options. The company has included a powerful 2300 mAh battery on the device which should been the device running. The Intex Aqua Octa will be available in both Black and White colour options and has been priced at Rs.19,999 for prospective buyers with availability slated starting from January 15th. We feel that the Intex Aqua Octa smartphone is a decent buy for buyers who are specifications freaks and it would be interesting to see how well the device and the users are able to make use of the extra processing power that the smartphone arrives with.
