Indian mobile company, Lava has been quite silent in the past few months with no flagship launches in the India market, but now the company has launched a new series, the ‘Iris Pro’ which will carry premium smartphones from the company and the first device in this series is the Lava Iris Pro 30 which packs in premium design language, material and features in comparison to other smartphones from the company.


The Lava Iris Pro 30 carries a 4.7 inch IPS display, which is based on the One Glass Solution (OGS) technology and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection while it has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by a powerful 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with PowerVR SGX 544 GPU and is coupled with a decent 1 GB RAM while the internal memory is pegged at 4 GB which will further be expandable using a microSD card up to 32 GB. The Lava Iris Pro 30 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box with loads of apps preloaded on the device and software features which include Sound and Shot, Choice and Face unlocking, Flip to mute and many more.

The Lava Iris Pro 30 has an 8 megapixel camera on the rear with Blue filter glass and dual LED Flash while there is a 3 megapixel front camera for users to make video calls. The Iris Pro 30 is just 7.5mm thick and comes weighs about 114 grams, thanks to the magnesium alloy body which Lava has used in manufacturing the body of the device. Connectivity wise, the Lava Iris Pro 30 comes covered with 2G, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, USB OTG, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack while there is a powerful 2000 mAh battery to power the smartphone.

The Lava Iris Pro 30 will be available in Black colour option and has been priced at Rs.15, 999 with availability slated for the third week of January. The company plans to launch more devices in this series in the coming months.

    I had a lovely experience with Lava Iris pro 30. I have been fidling in my phone since i bought it and there is still so much to explore. the screen is very big so i can see the videos very clearly and the flip to mute feature is the best.
