It is that time of the year when we are flooded with loads of leaks and rumours of upcoming smartphones and devices which are bound to launch in the upcoming months and one of such flagship smartphones is the LG Optimus G2 which has leaked quite a number of times in the past few weeks and today again, new images of successor to the LG Optimus G have appeared online along with a video which gives us a clear idea of what’s to come from LG’s camp.

First, the LG Optimus G2 is said to carry a 5.2 inch full-HD display with a rounded-edges design as on the LG made Nexus 4 smartphone and a very thin bezel going around the display which makes it look ‘almost’ an edge-edge design. The capacitive Android navigation buttons have also been replaced in favour of on-screen capacitive buttons which is also a change from LG Optimus G. The LG Optimus G2 will go on arrive with the volume rockers placed on the back of the device and this has been confirmed in the clearest of images and will be available next to the rear facing camera and the LED Flash which is a bit weird.

As per previous rumours, the LG Optimus G2 is expected to launch with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocking at 2.3 GHz while this will be coupled with 2 GB of RAM.  We also get a look at the lockscreen, launcher, camera UI and more in the leaked images. While the LG Optimus G2 will go on to run on Android 4.2.2 at the time of launch, there are still various details on the smartphone which are lacking, like the amount of battery that the smartphone will carry.

One thing which we do know is that the smartphone will launch on August 7th, 2013 as LG has already sent out the invitations for the event and this also leaves us with enough time for more leaks to pour in as we near the launch of the LG Optimus G2.
