It seems like Indian company Micromax is on a roll. It was just a couple of days back when the company announced the launch of is next flagship, the Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 in India for which it has roped in Hugh Jackman as its brand ambassador and now another device called the Micromax Canvas Magnus A117 which, going by the specifications is going to replace the Micromax Canvas HD A116 has appeared online on e-retailer Snapdeal for Rs.14,999.

The Micromax Canvas Magnus packs in a 5 inch capacitive IPS touchscreen display which has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and is powered by a powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core MEdiaTek processor which is coupled with 1 GB of RAM, so that performance of the device should be decent enough. Internal memory pegged on the smartphone is about 4 GB of which we expect only about 2 GB to be available for users but will be expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card slot. There is a huge 12 megapixel camera on the back of the Micromax Canvas Magnus with LED Flash which will be capable of recording videos at 1080p. The front camera is of 2 megapixel resolution.

The device supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) connectivity and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box. Other Connectivity options on the Micromax Canvas Magnus include the 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm audio jack and GPS. The smartphone will get all the juice from a large 2000 mAh battery to keep it running. If you are interested in the device, it will be available in Blue and White colour options and you will have to shell out Rs.14,999 if you purchase it online.

We feel that the Micromax Canvas Magnus is a worthy sucessor to the Micromax Canvas HD for the given price tag and if you shell out a few more grands, the Micromax Canvas Turbo with 5 inch full HD display, quad-core processor and more is a great buy too.
