Google has gone on to announce the Nexus 5 Smartphone earlier this month and the company, along with LG, who has manufactured the device has been quick enough to make the smartphone available in the Indian market. The Nexus 5 is now available for prospective buyers in India from the Google Play Store in Black and White colour options and will be available in two storage options viz. 16 GB and 32 GB for users to select from.


Going by the specifications, the Nexus 5 packs in with a 4.95 inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display while the device is powered by a powerful 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU while the internal storage options available are 16 GB and 32 GB with no option for expansion using a microSD card slot. The smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS out-of-the-box.

The Nexus 5 packs in an 8 megapixel camera with OIS while there is a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front for users to make video calls and Hangouts. The smartphone has the usual connectivity options such as 2G, 3G, WI-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB port and GPS. A powerful 2300 mAh battery has been included on the smartphone to keep it running all day long. The Nexus 5’s 16 GB variant has been priced at Rs.29,999 while the 32 GB model will be available for users for Rs.33,999. The device is soon to be available via local retailers while the sales of the Nexus 4 is still going strong in the Indian market.
