Nokia had scheduled a ‘World Premier’ event for today in Russia to launch a new device and here it is! The Finnish giant has just made the Nokia 515 official which is a classic phone made with premium material and arrives with high performance. The Nokia 515 packs in a decent 2.4 inch display which is made up of the strong Corning Gorilla Glass 2 which is slightly curved and also polarised for use in sunlight. The LCD display has a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels (QVGA) with 262k colors.


The Nokia 515’s alphanumeric keymat was specially created with a new hardened polycarbonate resin and has a gentle curvature while the device measure about 11mm thick and weighs about 101.1 grams. A 5 megapixel camera on the back has been included with some smart features which include voice-guided self-portrait which will let you take the right pictures even when you are not looking at the screen. An LED Flash has been coupled with the camera to allow users to click images in the dark.


The body of the Nokia 515 is worth talking about as it is made from a single piece of anodised, sandblasted aluminium. The device has up to 256 MB of flash memory which can be expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card slot while connectivity options include 2G, 3G, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB port and 3.5mm audio jack. The battery of the Nokia 515 is pegged at 1200 mAh and the company claims a standby by time of 33 days while talking of up to 10.4 hours on 2G and about 5 hours on 3G network.


The Nokia 515 will be available both single and dual SIM flavours and users will have a choice to choose from the White and Black color options. The Nokia 515 starts to roll out globally in September, starting in Russia, Germany, Switzerland and Poland. It will have a suggested retail price of 149 USD / 115 EUR before taxes and subsidies. No news yet on the phone arriving in India as yet.
