With this year’s Nokia World expected to be the last under the brand before Microsoft takes over the handset division of Nokia, the Finnish giant took the centre stage in Abu Dhabi to launch a slew of devices. We have already shared with you about the Nokia Lumia 1520 and the Nokia Lumia 1320 smartphone but one thing which was long rumoured, expected and much awaited from Nokia was a tablet from the company and this has become a reality with the Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet getting unveiled.


The Nokia Lumia 2520 is a 10.1 inch tablet running on the Windows RT 8.1 OS. The 10.1 inch display on the Nokia Lumia 2520 packs in a full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution with Gorilla Glass 2 protection. The display boasts brightness of 650 nits and reflectance at under 6% which is really impressive for a tablet. On the internals, the Nokia Lumia 2520 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocking at 2.2 GHz coupled with 2 GB RAM. Internal memory is pegged at 32 GB which will further be expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card slot. Coming to the camer, Nokia has included a sweet 6.7 megapixel Autofocus camera with ZEISS options f1.9 aperture. The front facing camera is pegged at 2 megapixel with wide-angle lens.

The Nokia Lumia 2520 is just 8.9mm thick thanks to Nokia’s use of the unibody polycarbonate body and weighs about 615 grams which is decent enough for a 10.1 inch tablet. Connectivity wise, the Lumia 2520 comes loaded ith 2G, 3G, 4G LTE thanks to the microSIM slot while Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB 3.0, NFC, GPS, GLONAS and 3,5mm audio jack are also available for users. The battery on the Nokia Lumia 2520 is pegged at 8000 mAh which is just impressive with Nokia claiming the device to provide 11 hours of continuos video playback and super fast charging with 0-80 percentage in just 1 hour.

Nokia has also announced a Power Keyboard which has a keyboard, trackpad, twp USB Ports, wraps around the tablet for protection and offers an extra 5 hours of battery life priced at $149. The Nokia Lumia 2520 will be available in 4 colour options which are Red, Cyan, White and Black. The tablet is priced at $499 and will roll out starting with U.S. and Finland very soon followed by other markets.
