Nokia had been teasing its next ‘Hero’ smartphone called the Nokia Lumia 928 which will be exclusive to Verizon Wireless in the US and packs a 8.7 megapixel PureView camera with the optical image stabilization assembly found on the Lumia 920 and is coupled with a Xenon Flash. The camera has an aperture of F/2.0 and will let users to shoot images in 4:3 and 16:9 mode. The Nokia Lumia 928 has a 4.5 inch HD OLED display with Nokia’s PureMotion HD+ technology which gives users a crisp viewing experience.

The screen has a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels and the smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor complemented with 1 GB of RAM. The Nokia Lumia 928 is also equipped with three High Amplitude Audio Capture (HAAC) microphones to offer rich distortion-free audio capture, even in noisy conditions and facilitate superior quality audio recording at up to 140 decibels.

The Nokia Lumia 928 measures 5.24 x 2.71 x 0.44 inches in dimensions while it weighs about 163 grams. The smartphone runs on the Windows Phone 8 OS and comes loaded with all the exclusive-to-Nokia-Lumia apps like the HERE Maps, HERE Drive+, HERE Transit and HERE City Lens apart from the Nokia Music, Mix Radio, Camera apps like the Smart Shoot, Cinemagraph amongst others.

The Nokia Lumia 928 will be made available in Verizon Wireless’s stores and online beginning Thursday, May 16 for $99 with a new 2 year contract and Nokia is, for a limited time also offering a $25 credit for buying Windows Phone apps and games from the Windows Phone Store when you buy the Nokia Lumia 928.
