Finnish giant Nokia last announced the Nokia Lumia 1520 and the Nokia Lumia 1320 phablets with 6 inch displays and since then we didn’t hear much from the company on the front of high-end smartphone. But soon, the company is planning to launch the Nokia Lumia Icon smartphone which leaked a few days back on Verizon’s website and today again, details of the unannounced device have appeared in full on the operator’s website.


Going by the specifications, the Nokia Lumia Icon will arrive with a 5 inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and packing in the Nokia ClearBlack technology, Sunlight Readability Enhancement (SRE), High Brightness Mode; Super sensitive touch setting that enables touch interaction with glove. It is powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocking at 2.2 GHz and is coupled with 2 GB of RAM. The internal storage on the Nokia Lumia Icon is pegged at 32 GB which, is sadly not expandable using a microSD card slot. On the OS front, Windows Phone 8 GDR3 with Nokia Black update is supposed to run on the smartphone out-of-the-box.

The Nokia Lumia Icon will carry a 20 megapixel PureView camera on the rear with dual-LED Flash and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) in tow. There is a front facing 1.2 megapixel camera on the front for video calls. Connectivity options include the regulars, including 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack and also DLNA. The Nokia Lumia Icon will have 2420 mAh battery which will be non-removable and promises to give a usage time of up to 17.64 hours.

There is currently no news on as to when the Nokia Lumia Icon will be made available for buyers but the smartphone appearing on Verizon’s own website, the launch might not be too far away. Oh and the price of $777 is just a place holder.
