Samsung went on to create a new category called the ‘Phablets’ with the introduction of the 5 inch Galaxy Note which surprised us all with the massive screen but now, other competitors are catching up and smartphones with a 5 inch screen have become a standard. We are also hearing that the Galaxy S IV might launch with a full HD 5 inch display. But along with this, it is being said that the Galaxy Note III will arrive with a huge 6.3 inch screen and if this turns out to be true, then this will leave a gap between the 5.5 inch Galaxy Note II and the 6.3 inch Galaxy Note III. And to fill this gap, Samsung is said to be preparing a device called the Samsung Galaxy Fonblet.
Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8
Yes, the name is indeed a bit weird but might be perfect for the gap which it the device will fill. According to the guys at SamMobile, the Korean giant is preparing a 5.8 inch Samsung Galaxy Fonblet which will be similar to the Galaxy Player 5.8 which the company launched last year but with cellular connectivity.

Samsung is expected to launch the 5.8 inch Samsung Galaxy Fonblet in Europe, in a pure white colour variant and the device is expected to arrive with Android Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box. Going by the specifications, the Fonblet will pack similar specifications as that of the Galaxy Player.

The Galaxy Player packs in a 5.8 inch TFT diaplay with a qHD resolution, carries a front VGA camera, offers 16 GB and 32 GB storage options with a microSD Slot for expanding the memory. It runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS and is powered by a large 2,500 mAh battery. We have already seen Chinese giant Huawei launch a 6.1 inch Ascend Mate and thus Samsung might also have decided to move into the 6 inch display category. For now, we expect the Galaxy Fonblet to launch at the upcoming MWC 2013 in February.
