Korean mobile manufacturer Samsung went on to officially announce the launch of the successor of its best selling Galaxy Grand smartphone with the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 in India last month and also said that the device will be made available in India this month. And as promised, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is now available for prospective buyers for Rs.22,999 from Samsung’s eStore.


The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is a minor incremental upgrade over the original Galaxy Grand and packs in a 5.25 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while the aspect ratio is pegged at 16:9. It is powered by a powerful 1.2 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1.5 GB RAM while the internal memory of the smartphone is pegged at 8 GB which will further be expandable up to 64 GB using a microSD card slot. The device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 carries an 8 megapixel camera with LED Flash on the back while there is a 2 megapixel camera on the front for users to make video calls and chats with their family and friends. The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 has 2G, 3G, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi and 3.5mm audio jack on the connectivity front. The Smartphone has a 2600 mAh battery to keep it powered for the users. The device is just 8.9mm thick and weighs 163 grams. From what we are hearing, the smartphone will be available to retailers starting January 20th while users can order online from the Samsung eStore in White colour option for now.
