Back in April last month, Korean giant Samsung went on to unveil the extra-large phablets under its Galaxy Mega series called the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and today the company has launched the two devices in the Indian subcontinent making it one of the first countries to get the extra-large display smartphones. For people who are not content with even the 5.5 inch Galaxy Note II, Samsung has priced the Galaxy Mega 5.8 at Rs.25,100 while the Galaxy Mega 6.3 will be available for buyers for Rs.31,490.

The specifications that the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 includes might not be much impressive but the devices packs, as the name suggests a 5.8 inch TFT Capacitive display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels which would give a decent viewing experience. The smartphone is powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM while internal memory is pegged at 8 GB which can be expandable up to 64 GB. There is an 8 megapixel camera on the rear of the Galaxy Mega 5.8 with LED Flash while 1.9 megapixel front camera has been included.

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is running the show on the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 with TouchWiz UI on the top of it and connectivity wise, Samsung has included 3G, Wi-Fi, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack on the Galaxy Mega 5.8. Battery available on the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 is of 2600 mAh which should keep the device running.

Next is the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 which arrives with a large 6.3 inch TFT Capacitive display with a 1280 x 720 pixels HD display and is powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor. The internal memory available is 16 GB which can be expandable and a 3200 mAh battery powers the device. All other specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 are similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 expect that the 6.3 is thinner at 7.9mm while the 5.8 measures at 9mm.

The device will be available from next week for buyers and it also comes with 2 GB of free data usage including unlimited WhatsApp, Twitter and Facebook from Reliance for 3 months while 2 GB of free data from Vodafone next week.
