Samsung is one manufacturer who knows to exploit and make the best of its popular product and the ‘Galaxy’ series of Android smartphones and tablets from the company are a hit worldwide. With this, the company is possibly planning to launch a new sub-series called the ‘Galaxy Mega’ which will have devices with display over 5.5 inches.

And details on a couple of upcoming Samsung Galaxy Mega devices have popped up and it would not be long before Samsung launches the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3. And the possible specifications of these two Mega devices have leaked online.

Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2

First, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 is expected to arrive with the model number GT-I9152 and as the name suggests it will have a 5.8 inch TFT display while the resolution is qHD 960 x 540 pixels. It will be powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor which will be complemented with 1.5 GB of RAM. The Galaxy Mega 5.8 is expected to run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and carry 2 cameras. The front camera will be of 2 megapixel while the rear camera is expected to of 8 megapixels. To power the device, Samsung is expected to include a battery of 2600 mAh which seems to be decent.

Next, coming to the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, we are expecting the device to arrive with the model number GT-I9200 and carry a huge 6.3-inch PLS HD display. The device is expected to be powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and will be complemented with about 1.5 GB of RAM like on the Mega 5.8. The Mega 6.3 will also carry an 8 MP camera on the rear and a 2 MP front facing camera for making video call while Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is expected to run the show. Coming to the battery, a powerful 3200 mAh battery is expected to power the device on its arrival.

We currently do not have any information as to when the Phablets will be made official and what price tag they would arrive with but going by the specifications, we expect the Mega 5.8 and mega 6.3 to arrive in the mid-price range given that a larger Galaxy Note III with high-end specifications will also be made official sometime very soon.
