Korean giant Samsung has lately adopted a new naming strategy wherein the company is using the names of it popular and flagship older smartphones and launching new devices based on them. And now, the company has made official another smartphone called the Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim, which let me tell you is not slim for sure, as you might expect from the name and also, doesn’t come with some great specifications as on the Galaxy S3.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim seems to a budget version of the Galaxy S3 and comes with some decent specifications which include a 4.52 inch capacitive display which has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor which coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The internal memory on the Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim is pegged at 8 GB which is further expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card slot. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS is what users will get to enjoy out-of-the-box along with Samsung’s very own TouchWiz UI.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim comes with 5 megapixel camera with LED Flash on the rear while there is a complimentary VGA front facing camera on the device for users to be able to have video chats and calls with their friends and family. The smartphone has 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, aGPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. The Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim is powered by a powerful 2100 mAh battery which should keep it running through the day.

The smartphone will be available in Black and White colour options and has been spotted on Samsung Brazil’s website, where it is expected to go on sale soon but currently there is no information on the pricing of the device or the global availability of the phone but we should hear from Samsung soon.
