We all know how well the Samsung Galaxy S series of smartphones have done since they first launched and the latest in the series is the Samsung Galaxy S4, which for reason didn’t go on to sell as greatly as the Samsung Galaxy S3 given that it was too remsemblent to the S3. But then, the Korean giant is all set to leave those things behind is prepping to launch the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone some time in March – April, which has been the usual release schedule for the Galaxy S smartphones.

And this has been confirmed to Bloomberg by none other than Samsung’s executive VP of mobile, Lee Young Hee, thus we can trust it for now and it also rests to peace the rumour of an early launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014, next month.

We’ve been announcing our first flagship model in the first half of each year, around March and April, and we are still targeting for release around that time.

The VP also has made some revelations as to what we can expect from the Samsung Galaxy S5 like the device might arrive with a new iris-scan technology of which the company is studying the possibility of. The company has to bring in new technology on the Samsung Galaxy S5 as its major competitor, the Apple iPhone 5S packed in a fingerprint scanner on its launch. Going by the fact that, Samsung also has to prove that it can really innovate when it comes to the design part, the company has gone back to the basics and might concentrate on the display and the feel of the cover. We wish to see the three-sided display, which the company showcased last year and also the back might be of the faux-leather finish as on the Galaxy Note 3. The VP said,

When we moved to S4 from S3, it’s partly true that consumers couldn’t really feel much difference between the two products from the physical perspective, so the market reaction wasn’t as big. For the S5, we will go back to the basics. Mostly, it’s about the display and the feel of the cover.

Also, as expected, a new Gear smartwatch will be paired with the Samsung Galaxy S5, which should be more advanced and less bulky than the original Galaxy Gear. Lee said. “When we release our S5 device, you can also expect a Gear successor with more advanced functions, and the bulky design will also be improved.” We are just a couple of months away from the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5 coupled with the Gear 2 and such a detailed report points out that Samsung wants the prospective buyers to know that the company is readying something big for them and it is not too far from seeing the day light and thus restoring their faith in the company.
