As the stakes are getting higher to bring in the best flagship smartphones out in the market, various manufacturers are betting on different features to sell their device, for example, Samsung is betting a lot on the software of its Galaxy S4 while Sony made its Xperia Z dust and waterproof. Taiwanese manufacturer HTC tweaked the camera of the One and also on dual-speakers to sell its device. And now, the rumour mills are spinning out new details about the ‘Sony Honami‘. According to the latest reports, the Sony Honami will be a super-cameraphone which will have a sensor larger than all its competitor including the Nokia N8 but minus the Nokia 808 PureView. It is being said that the Sony Honami will pack a 20 MP stacked Exmor RS sensor with 1/1.6″ size. The Nokia 808 PureView has a 1/1.2″ unit in place while a 1/1.83″ sensor piece is available on the Nokia N8. It is also to be noted that with the sensor will also be able to grab more light which will enable better low-light shots.

The Sony Honami will feature a Cybershot G lens variety rather than the Carl Zeiss as the latter has an exclusive deal with Nokia. And that’s not all, the report points out that the Sony Honami will arrive with a Xenon and/or dual-LED Flash which will be about 10 times brighter than the ones found on smartphone these days and not to forget the software algorithm which is expected to be completely new and the camera UI, redesigned taking hints from Sony’s Cybershot camera range.

Apart from this, the Sony Honami is said to carry a 1080p 5 inch display while being powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and a huge 2700mAh battery to keep the device running. And it will not be surprising if Sony makes the device water and dustproof as the Sony Xperia Z.
