Sony has been lately launching a good amount of devices in the Indian subcontinent and almost all the devices are nicely priced for the specifications they pack in. The company had recently launched its flagship, the Sony Xperia Z1 for the high range buyers and the smartphone arrives with some nice specifications but if you think that the company has ignored the mid-budget buyers, then the Sony Xperia C is now available in India for prospective buyers.


The Sony Xperia C is the first smartphone from Sony to be powered by a quad-core processor from MediaTek. MediaTek is well known and popular for its affordable quad-core processors and the Sony Xperia C is powered on the MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor which clocks at 1.2 GHz and is complemented with 1 GB of RAM. The Xperia C has a 5 inch Capacitive touchscreen which has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels while the internal storage is pegged at 4 GB which will be expandable using a microSD card slot up to 32 GB. The smartphone is is powered on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-box.

An 8 megapixel camera on back with Flash, Exmor R Sensor and capability of recording videos at 1080p has been included on the device while a VGA front facing camera for video chats has been made available for users. The Sony Xperia C is dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) capable with dual standby capable and the device has 2G, 3G, Bluetooth, DLNA, MHL, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack connectivity. The battery on the Xperia C is pegged at 2390 mAh with Battery Stamina Mode and the device will be available in Black, White and Purple color options.

The device is available with online retail Saholic for Rs.20,490 which seems to be a little costlier for the device but Sony is also bundling the Sony MDR-ZX100A headset worth Rs.1,490 for buyers of the device. We expect the official launch of the smartphone very soon now that the device is available online.
