With the launch of its flagship, Xperia Z smartphone earlier in India, Sony also unveiled the Sony Xperia E and the Sony Xperia E dual which are budget Android smartphones which the company plans on making available soon. And now, the Sony Xperia E dual has gone on sale for Rs.10,990 from online retailer Saholic. The Sony Xperia E dual has a 3.5 inch multi touch capacitive display with a screen resolution of 480 x 320 pixels.

The smartphone is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A processor complemented with 512 MB of RAM while the internal memory that Sony has included is of 4 GB. This will be expandable using a microSD card enabling users to store more data. One the best thing about the Xperia E dual is that the smartphone runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box.


Sony has included a 3.2 megapxiels camera on the back of the Xperia E while there is no front camera. Going by the connectivity options, the Xperia E has Bluetooth 2.1, AGPS, Wi-Fi, 2G, 3G, DLNA, HD Voice and 3D surround sound features packed in. The smartphone has a 1530 mAh battery on-board to power it which seems to be decent enough.

There is also a single-SIM version of the Xperia E dual called the Sony Xperia E which is expected to be available soon for about Rs.9990. Sony is also providing free Sony Headphone (MDR-ZX100A) worth Rs. 1,490 with the Sony Xperia E dual and the Sony Xperia E and the smartphone seems to be a replacement of the existing Sony Xperia Tipo smartphone with upgraded specs.
