Sony India has been quite quiet when it comes to launching its new devices in the Indian market but not any more. Yesterday, the company launched the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact smartphone and today it has made official the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra for prospective buyers in the Indian subcontinent. The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra packs in a large 6 inch display with some other mid-range speicifications and competes directly with the Nokia Lumia 1320.

The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra comes with a 6 inch Triluminous display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which should just be okay for users who do not want an awesome display and the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocking at 1.4 GHz coupled with 1 GB of RAM. There is a managable 8 GB internal storage which will be expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card slot, which we think is sufficient. Sony has been kind enough to power the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS but with its own customizations on the top of it.

The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra carries a nice 13 megapixel camera on the rear with LED Flash while on the front, the company has included a 1.1 megapixel camera. The design of the smartphone is similar to other high-end Xperia smartphones which is nice and a powerful 3000 mAh battery has been included to keep the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra running with connectivity options like 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack. The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra has been priced at Rs.32,000 which is too much to ask for, for the specifications that the device is offering but it carries a better camera in comparison to the Lumia 1320 which has a 5 megapixel camera. We expect the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra to be available in Black, White and Purple colour options soon.
