Today Sony officially unveiled Xperia Tablet Z in Japan. Sony Xperia Tablet Z is latest addition to the Xperia tablet series. It borrows the same design line from Sony Xperia Z which was announced at CES 2013. Sony Xperia Tablet Z packs powerful hardware inside. It is powered by 1.5Ghz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SP4 Pro processor with 2GB RAM. It has 10.1 “Reality Display” with 1920×1200 pixels resolution and it is enhanced by Sony’s Mobile Bravia Engine 2. It features a 8.1MP BSI rear camera with Sony’s Exmor-R sensor for better low light photography. It also features “S-Force” virtual 3D surround sound enhancement.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z is world’s thinnest and lightest 10.1 inch tablet with only 495 gm weight and 6.9 mm thickness. Just like Xperia Z phone this tablet is also waterproof and dust-proof. Sony Xperia Tablet Z is running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. This tablet has all connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC. Fortunately it supports Micro SD cards for memory expansion which is not present in Google Nexus 10. It has 6,000 mAh battery which can be a reason of concern considering it has high-resolution screen and quad-core processor. For a comparison Google Nexus 10 packs 9,000 mAh battery and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has 7,000 mAh battery. Xperia Tablet Z will be available in two colors- White and Black. This tablet will be in Japan during Spring. No pricing and worldwide availability information is available at this moment.
