Early last month, Sony went on to announce the ‘mini’ version of its flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z1 in the form of the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact which went on to pack the best of the flaghip smartphone like the processor and the camera apart from the design and more. And now the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact has today officially been launched in India for a price tag of Rs.36,990 (MRP) while the MOP is expected to be lesser.


If you are still not aware of the specification of the smartphone, then you will get a decent 4.3 inch Triluminous Display with X-Reality engine for mobile and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocking at 2.2 GHz coupled with 2 GB of RAM. The internal memory is pegged at 16 GB which will further be expandable upt o 64 GB using a microSD card slot. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS with Sony’s own customized skin runs the show on the device while the smartphone is built in a single aluminium frame with tempered glass on the back and front.

There is a 20.7 megapixel camera with Exmos RS sensor on the back of the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact which is the same as on the Z1 and will also be able to take HDR photos and videos. There is a 2.2 megapixel HD camera on the front for making video calls and taking selfies. The smartphone is waterproof and dust resistant with IP55 and IP58 Ingress rating. A range of connectivity options, like 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, WiFi, MHL, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 with APT-X, GPS, GLONASS and 3.5mm audio jack are available for users to make use of while a decent 2300 mAh battery with Sony’s Stamina mode has been included on the Z1 compact.

The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact will be available in White, Lime, Pink and Black color option and prospective buyers will be able to grab one from all Sony Centers and other major retailers from February 24th.
