The Sony Xperia Z1 (Honami) smartphone, which is the successor to the Sony Xperia Z was announced recently with a large 5 inch display. And currently there is an ongoing trend of launching a smaller version of the flagship device with a little scaled down specifications as in the case of the Galaxy S4 Mini and the HTC One Mini. And today another addition to the ‘Mini’ devices is the Sony Xperia Z1 f (Homani Mini) which is a smaller version of the Xperia Z1 smartphone.

Going by the specification, the Sony Xperia Z1 f carries a 4.3 inch Triluminos Display with X-Reality for Mobiles and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while being powered by the powerful 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2 GB of RAM. Internal storage on the Sony Xperia Z1 f is pegged at 16 GB which will further be expandable up to 64 GB using a microSD card slot. Following its design cues from its larger partner, the Sony Xperia Z1 f comes with a single Aluminium frame with tempered glass on the front and back.

The much-talked about 20.7 megapixel has also made its way into the sleek 9.4mm body of the Sony Xperia Z1 f which comes with Sony’s G-Lens, Exmos RS sensor, HDR photos & videos, 1080p video recording. A front facing 2.2 megapixel camera for video calls has also been added on the device. Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS runs the show on the smartphone while the Xperia Z1 f will be IP55 / IP58 rating which makes it dust and water resistant. Connectivity wise, the Z1 f comes packed with 2G, 3G, Zi LTE, WiFi, MHL, NFC, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack.

The smartphone has been announced on NTT DoCoMo’s network and will be available in Black, White, Pink and Lime colour options sometime in December 2013. Currently there is no news on the international availability of the device and the pricing of the smartphone.
