As we already know that the launch of flaghsip smartphones is on full swing in India, today Sony India officially announced the launch of its Sony Xperia Z1 smartphone in the Indian subcontinent and the device has been priced at Rs.44,900 which seems to be a decent pricing for all the specifications that the Xperia Z1 goes on to pack in it including the 20.7 megapixel camera with Sony’s G-Lens. The Sony Xperia Z1 was announced at the IFA 2013 and it is nice to see that the smartphone has been launched in the first round of launches.


The Sony Xperia Z1 carries a 5 inch full HD Triluminos display for mobile while it is powered by a powerful 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM while internal storage is pegged at 16 GB which will be expandable using a microSD card slot for users who wish to save a lot of data. The smartphone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and is upgradable to Andorid 4.3 Jelly Bean OS which will be rolled out later.

Following the tradition from Xperia Z, the Sony Xperia Z1 is a water proof and dust resistant smartphone as it arrives with IP55 and IP58 rating. The most talked about feature of the Xperia Z1 is the 20.7 megapixel camera which arrives with loads of camera tweaks and features which will allow users to enjoy Timeshift bust, AR effect, Social Live and many more. Apps like Sony Music with unlimited songs download and Sony Liv with video streaming are preloaded on the device. The device is powered by a powerful 3000 mAh battery which will keep the device running longer.

Sony is bundling a 5000 mAh portable charger, a premium case for the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Accidental Damage insurance with the smartphone for everyone buying it in India which is a nice combo. The smartphone will be available in stores starting today in Black, White and Purple colour options.
