Xiaomi, which iss currently the latest entrant into the Indian smartphone market and has been in news for its Mi3 smartphone has announced the launch of its new phone, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S in India for Rs.5,999. The phone, like the Mi3 will sell exclusively via online retailer Flipkart and today, the retailer has sent out emails to its Flipkart First users, allowing them to register for a Flipkart First preview on 1st September 2 PM, a day earlier to when the phone is supposed to go on sale for regular users.


It is to be noted that the first two thousand Flipkart First subscribers who register to buy, will get the Redmi 1S added to their cart automatically & they can purchase the Redmi 1S on 1st September 2PM, one day prior to its India launch and the phone will be in their cart until will be available till 3rd Sep 11.59PM. If you are amongst the first 2000 Flipkart First customers to get the Early Access on the Redmi 1S, you will get an email from Flipkart to confirm it by 31st August.

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S has the specifications which include a 4.7-inch IPS display with Dragontrail glass protection and resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and is powered by 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The internal memory is pegged at 8 GB which can be expandable up to 64GB. There is an 8 megapixel camera on the back of the device with LED Flash and BSI sensor and 1.6 megapixel front camera. The Redmi 1S runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS with MIUI v5 on top of it.

Connecitivity wise, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S has 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB OTG, 3.5mm audio jack and the phone is powered by 2000 mAh battery. The Xiaomi Redmi 1S will be available in Grey colour options while the backcovers will be avaialble in multiple colours from Flipkart.
