XOLO was the first company to launch a smartphone running on Intel’s processor and gradually the company shifted to also launch devices running on MediaTek’s processors. And now XOLO is all set to launch its first smartphone running on NVIDIA’s powerful Tegra 3 processor which will be called XOLO Play and will arrive with a 4.7 inch display. The 4.7 inch display will of IPS panel with One Glass Solution (OGS) Technology and will arrive with HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.


As we know, the processor is NVDIA Tegra 3 which is a quad-core processor clocking at 1.5 GHz with a 5th battery-saver core. The GPU is 416 MHz 12 Core NVIDIA ULP GeForce and this is coupled with about 1 GB of RAM so the processing on the XOLO Play will undoubtedly be great. The internal memory of the XOLO Play is though a bit low and is pegged at just 4 GB but this will be expandable to 32 GB with a microSD card slot.

The XOLO Play will carry an 8 megapixel camera with BSI sensor and LED Flash on the back while it will be capable of recording videos at 1080p. The front camera will be of 2 megapixel resolution. Connectivity options will include the usual Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 2G, 3G, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack. The XOLO Play runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box and the battery is pegged at 2000 mAh. The smartphone will also support games via the NVIDIA TegraZone whihc will let users to play some great games.

It is great to see XOLO betting on the Tegra 3 and finally some great smartphone with nice and true gaming ability will be available for users who would love some graphic-intensive and thrilling games on the move. There is no information on the pricing of the XOLO Play or the time when it will be launched but we expect the announcement coming from company very soon.
