XOLO was the first company to launch a smartphone running on the Intel based Atom processor with the XOLO X900. And taking a step further, the company has announced the launch of the XOLO X500 which runs on Intel’s latest 1.2 GHz Atom Lexington Z2420 processor which arrives with the Hyper Threading technology thus making it easy for users to run multiple apps on the smartphone smoothly without any hiccups. If you are still not aware as to what the Hyper Threading technology is, then with HT users can notice faster application launches, smooth performance, faster User Interface (UI) responsiveness and lesser battery consumption.

 XOLO X500

The XOLO X500 is the first smartphone running on Intel Atom processor to arrive with dual-SIM capability and the smartphone arrives with a 3.5 inch display which has a low 480 x 320 pixels display resolution which is a setback but manageable. The 1.2 GHz Atom Lexington Z2420 processor on the XOLO X500 is combined with 512 MB of RAM for all the processing while the Mali-400 GPU manages all the graphics on the smartphone.

The smartphone has a 5 MP camera on the back but there is no front camera. Also sadly the smartphone runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS while new smartphones are launching on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. The XOLO X500 supports 3G HSPA speed upto 21 Mbps other than the usual Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm headphone jack. The XOLO X500 is powered by a 1500 mAh battery and the device has been priced at Rs.8999 which seems to be a decent price for the smartphone. It will be interesting to see how the performance on the smartphone will be and if users are happy with it.
