As months pass by, the smartphones of our times will keep getting faster and the war for the fastest smartphone ever will never end eventually. And today, joining this race is ZTE who has at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing announced the launch of a new smartphone which runs on Intel’s Clovertrail+ processor (Intel Atom Z2580) The device in question is the ZTE Geek which is powered by a 2 GHz Intel Clovetrail+ processor which is said to deliver performance that is twice as fast compared to the previous processors. Intel has said that the Clover Trail+ processor inside the ZTE Geek will deliver increased performance capabilities to users, while also offering better graphics and reduced power consumption.

The ZTE Geek doesn’t arrive with any out-of-the-world specifications but packs a 5 inch HD display giving a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The 2 GHz processor is complemented with 1 GB of RAM and PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU while the internal memory of the smartphone is of 8 GB.

The ZTE Geek arrives with an 8 megapixel rear facing camera with LED Flash while a 1 MP front facing shooter has been included for users to make use of for video calls. The smartphone runs on Google’s Android Jelly Bean OS but we are not sure if it is Android 4.1 or Android 4.2. Coming to the connectivity part, the ZTE Geek lacks 4G LTE, but 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Wireless charging are available on the smartphone. The Geek is powered by a 2300 mAh battery to keep the device running all day long.
